Will Knap

Will calls on his 20+ years of hospitality experience, passion for storytelling, and gregarious spirit to ingratiate every guest with dynamic hospitality. A CMS-certified sommelier, he has built his career by pairing an expertise of fine wine with a talent for forging lasting relationships.
Driven to enhance his scope of fine wine, Will moved to the Napa Valley in 2016. In 2019, he joined Joseph Phelps Vineyards serving as Estate Ambassador. There, he specialized in delivering bespoke guest experiences, curating educational tastings, and hosting the private events at the winery. His 10 years in the Napa Valley have been filled with an appreciation for its history, a pursuit of his craft, and a connection to the people that tie it all together. His earlier career included operations and sommelier roles with Hyatt, and wine and beverage consulting for several of Philadelphia's acclaimed eateries.
Will grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. His father was an entrepreneur selling raw materials to iron foundries. He and his siblings spent much of their early childhood at home with their Brazilian mom cooking in the kitchen. Unbeknownst at the time, it was both that adventurous, entrepreneurial spirit and absorption of culture and flavor that would metamorphosize into a lifelong passion for fine wine, food, and people to share it all with.
That passion is shared outside of work with an avid tie to his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers, a futilely optimistic belief in improving a tragic golf game, and his two Corgis, Rocky and Jasper. Besides that, he satiates a curious mind with books and his creative appetite in the kitchen exploring new recipes. But mostly he prefers to fill his free time with good wines and good friends.
He believes that wine is uniquely qualified to enhance the moments we share. Like us, it will only be that way that one time, but it will never be completely different either. Similar enough to spark nostalgia yet changed enough to beckon the adventure of seeking and the promise of finding that next moment together.
